The Wait Kills

In 21st Century, the Wait is simply exhausting or to put it in different perspective we don't have patience. Let me explain what I mean.

Recollect the last time you ordered food on a Sunday morning and the delivery guy on the app shows he hasn't picked up the food yet. The "wait" begins. No matter how hard you try, the situation isn't going to improve as it's out of your control. One keeps checking if the food got picked. Wait isn't over yet, one keeps a track of the delivery guy all through the traffic till he reaches doorstep.

You have attended an interview for a job. After every round the "wait" for the schedule for next round seems endless. And after the last round the "wait" for the offer letter is eternity.

Just the "wait" for salary after 10th of every month is painful.

The "wait" for a stock price to go up, exam results, blood reports, getting cured after falling ill 🤒, festivals especially Deepawali and Ganesh Chaturthi, the "wait" for vacations and the list goes on.

My point is the duration for which we wait isn't that long as it actually is. There is one particular wait that I want to emphasize.

Elders, especially the one who live in old age home, the bed ridden ones, the ones who have chronic diseases the wait is unbearable. The real pain lies there. It's impossible to feel that pain of waiting for the "death". Although nobody expresses it but definitely thinks about it for the wait to get over.

This particular "wait" kills.
